Theresa has been teaching Learn to Swim for 13 years and has specialised in complex needs for 4 years. Theresa returned to the ODEEP team in July 2018, after working in various roles in the Early Childhood field. Theresa is a qualified Early Childhood Teacher having recently upgraded her Diploma in Children’s Services to an Early Childhood Teacher Degree through Charles Sturt University.

Theresa has worked in Long Day Care, Family Day Care, and Preschools. Theresa is also an accredited Austswim teacher and has a passion to provide quality aquatic education and instruction to reduce drowning, the impact of aquatic accidents and strive for safer swimming and water safety. Specialising in Stroke Correction, Infants Aquatics and Access and Inclusion, Theresa is committed to ongoing training to ensure the delivery of high quality aquatic programs to young swimmers. Theresa is also an avid triathlete and marathon runner.

Theresa’s Current Qualifications:
  • AUSTSWIM teacher of swimming and water safety, with specialisations in infants, access and inclusion, adults, cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Autism Swim certified.
  • CPR.
  • First Aid.
  • Bachelor in Early Childhood.
  • Accredited aqua aerobics instruction.
  • Therapeutic Aquatics (physical and intellectual impairment).
ODEEP provides private 30 min Aqua Therapy sessions. Our Aqua Therapy sessions aim to incorporate important skills along with the child’s NDIS goals to maximise the opportunities for skills development.
