With over 10 years’ experience teaching children, teenagers and adults, Sam brings the skills, knowledge, and passion to help swimmers of all ages and abilities achieve their goals. Home Swim offers a personalised approach to swimming lessons that can help individuals overcome their fears and technical challenges. The initial goal is to help the swimmer relax, feel comfortable and enjoy the water, from which all their other progress flows. The aquatic environment can provide freedom, comfort, and confidence to people with a disability. Sam works with the individual adapting his approach and communication methods to meet their needs. Sam has had many success stories particularly with children and teenagers on the autism spectrum. His instruction has lead to the swimmers being able to access a whole new world in the water that they couldn’t before.

Sam operates from various locations including home pools, Magill pool UniSA and Little School of Swimmer.
*At the moment, Sam has very limited availability for families without access to their own pool*.

JL and Sam

Sam took 30 minutes to achieve what others were planning to achieve in a whole term. Sam developed a personal rapport with our autistic son and helped him to learn to swim at the age of 13 in a few lessons. Not only is Sam a superb swimming professional, he also has a high degree of emotional intelligence to be able to work collaboratively with parents of special needs children. We continue to use the services of Samuel for our son to improve his muscle tone and to further develop his swimming skills. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others who require a swimming instructor.

Johnny and Sam

Sam has taught my 7 year old son Johnny swimming lessons both in Adelaide and in our home town in the country. Johnny has autism and very challenging behaviour. From day one Sam showed control while keeping calm and making fun of what he was teaching. Sam was very quick to learn the best ways to encourage Johnny, therefore getting the greatest effort from Johnny possible. This factor was very important to me as lessons seemed to go so quickly, it meant no time was wasted. Johnny was engaged all lesson and this was value for money. Sam’s knowledge and idea’s showed he is very experienced and loves what he does. Johnny grew in confidence both in and out of the pool. He was always exciting and looking forward to his swimming lessons. I found Sam extremely easy to talk to when explaining behaviour and expectation I had for Johnny. He was open to the language we used with Johnny and supported our needs for him. I am so happy we have met Sam and he has been a part of Johnny’s journey.
