Our instructors have a wealth of experience in not only teaching swimming but additional qualifications such as Makaton, Rhythmic Movement Training and advanced SEN/Disability training.
The core of our teaching is about connecting with swimmers and their families, finding the right approach for each individual and teaching a love of water and aquatic skills that last a lifetime. We are dedicated to creating a community with the swim school to develop more than just swimming skills, but a support centre for swimmers and families alike.

“We have been so happy with Aqualife for both our children, including our son who has special educational needs. He gets on so well with his teacher Sheryl; she totally gets him (which is not as straight forward considering he is non-verbal) and she also knows how to best teach him to swim. Despite his sensory processing, dyspraxia and cerebral palsy difficulties he has made great progress over the years. He absolutely loves his swimming lessons; it is his favourite time of the week. I totally recommend Aqualife as a swimming school for children with SEN.”
“It’s all been tricky finding a SEN supportive swim school. But finally we feel we’ve found it in Aqualife. My son’s teacher totally gets his ASD and never pushes him, enters him to any competitive element and is just really encouraging. He seems to really get that these kids have a hard enough time of it in life generally and that a supportive, nurturing and above all kind approach is key to getting results. His swimming has come on so brilliantly. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Aqualife to any other parents with SEN kids.”
