Thanks to Sport and Recreation Victoria, Autism Swim are excited to provide 400 scholarships (Value Memberships) to Victoria based swim instructors and aquatic therapists for $100 (standard price: $867).
x
This will allow them to engage in the certification requirements and become Autism Swim Approved.
x
In summary, the process for certification is as follows:
- Complete training modules
(approximately 5 hour’s worth of content) - Engage in monthly resources
- Complete 3-monthly quizzes
x
The certification is for 12 months, at which point you can renew to new and more-advanced content.
x
The educational material is based largely on how to understand your swimmers’ needs in more detail, and how to make adaptions to your lessons (rather than delivering a set program per se, as of course every swimmer with other abilities has their own goals and needs).x
If you are interested in becoming certified and embarking on an ongoing professional development journey with Autism Swim, please ensure you meet the requirements below and complete the application form. Autism Swim will then be in touch to let you know the outcome of your application.
