Your support is needed now more than ever! Their future is in your hands.

Who are we and what do we do?

Autism Swim is an international charity made up of global experts in aquatic inclusion who support neurodivergent participants in and around the water.

Children on the autism spectrum are 160 times more likely to drown than their neurotypical peers.

We are on a mission to change the drowning statistics for people on the autism spectrum and neurodivergent people with specific learning needs, and make aquatic spaces inclusive all over the world, and we need your help to do that!

How can you help?

Running a fundraiser on behalf of Autism Swim can be super fun, easy to coordinate, and raise some much needed funds (we are so reliant on community support).

To make it even easier, we have outlined some ideas below on what you can do to help support Autism Swim.

We have also included some handy links and resources you can use on your mission to change the drowning statistics and make aquatics inclusive for everyone, everywhere!

Some fundraising ideas:

Create a Pledge Campaign:

Swim, Walk, Run or Roll Your Way for Autism Swim!

You could pledge to swim 20km this April! You could pledge to run, walk or roll 40km in 6 weeks!

Pick your distance; whatever works for you! Personalise this to suit what YOU can do, and raise money for AS in a way that is accessible to you.

Get your workplace on board, your surf club, your mates and get moving to raise awareness AND funds for inclusive aquatics.

Download our Pledge Fundraising Guide below.

Host an event:

  • Host a silent disco
  • Hold a bake sale
  • An aquatic themed trivia or quiz night
  • Hold Sensory Sessions at your Aquatic Centre
  • BBQ’s/morning teas
  • Dress-up days

School fundraising:

Get in touch with your school and let them know they can help raise funds for Autism Swim and Inclusive Aquatics too!

Most schools will plan some sort of fundraiser for World Autism Awareness Day this April, so get in early and let them know about AS and how their donated funds will make a difference!

We have included a letter in our School Fundraising Guide below, that you can send to your school.

Some ideas for school events in April, or any time throughout the year, are:

  • A colour/slime/inflatable fun run
  • A silent disco party (so inclusive for sensory needs!)
  • A bake sale
  • A mufti day with gold coin donation

Workplace fundraising:

Get your workplace on board to support inclusive aquatics!

If your workplace has a Workplace Giving Scheme in progress, speak to your HR or Payroll Department about adding Autism Swim Ltd to that.

If your organisation does not already have a program set up, you can refer them to somewhere like Benevity, a platform that assists with workplace giving.

You can also sign up for our Sign 4 Inclusion campaign, run annually and used to help teach basic Key Word Sign to make workplaces more accessible and inclusive! Keep an eye out for more info about joining this campaign.

Host an event with your workplace! You can download our Event Fundraising Guide below.
