Blue Whale Swim School was established in 2018 and has seen awesome growth over the past 9 months. The current services include one on one individual swimming lessons catering for all abilities. Blue Whale currently operates in Bentleigh East but also runs sessions from private pool facilities too.
I am passionate about working with and supporting the growing need of students with Autism and have a personal investment in this area – my son has autism.
The programs offered by Blue Whale developed on an individual needs' basis and based around the concept of low sensory learning environments. I work closely with parents to ensure that the sensory needs of their child is accommodated and that strong routines and positive habits are established to help the child meet their full potential and develop safe water practices.
Water familiarisation and water safety form the basis of most beginner programs.

My job is the best job in the world! I just want to make a difference for these little champions by helping them to enjoy the many benefits of water!
When students first enrol with Blue Whale programs, they have an initial assessment session, and as part of this initial assessment a written report and Individual Education Goals are recommended. These goals form the basis of the program going forward. After each session parents receive a comprehensive session summary report.
A typical day at Blue Whale involves liaising with parents to develop programs that are responsive to the needs of their children, ongoing consultation with clients and other stakeholders to support the development of low sensory programs for all abilities.
